EPD: Society and Space is an international, interdisciplinary scholarly journal of record. We seek contributions that develop new conceptual vocabularies that are deeply rooted in the practices and geographies of struggle. We are committed to publishing work that center these struggles in the production of geographical knowledge and theory. We publish original research articles, essays, topical forums and book review forums that investigate and challenge the ways that modes and systems of power, difference, and oppression variously shape lives, and how those modes and systems are resisted, subverted, and reworked.
We welcome work that is empirically engaged, furthers a range of critical epistemological approaches, and puts theory to work in ways that aid advance our understanding of the stakes of scholarly inquiry in the contemporary moment. Submissions should consciously navigate the fraught dynamics of knowledge production within and beyond the academy, working to decenter and explode existing ways of knowing to foster new possibilities for collective liberation.
