An excellent insight into both conceptual and practical dimensions of qualitative research . A very readable text with some excellent contributors addressing the key stages in the research process and offering practical insights into research design, and implementation and answering some of the more common questions raised by research students .
The course (Retailing) has since ended and had 30 students. New course begins in Sep 2013 and I will recommend the text book again to my class
This is a superb book on qualitative research in organizational settings. The chapters on the design and implementation of qualitative research provide an excellent basis for situating those other chapters on the methods of qualitative inquiry. I am adopting this book in a doctoral course on qualitative research and strongly recommend it to anyone involved in organizational research, either experienced researchers or newcomers into the field.
This is an innovative text in relation to qualitative research. I believe this text is suitable for PhD students and high level masters students. for our purposes it does not offer a step by step guide to research and therefore more suited to students conducting research over a longer period of time. Overall there are some excellent chapters, on specific topics which cover a great deal of depth and analysis.
This book summarises in an accessable way the key-ideas that are discussed in the organisational research litereature
Good text in order to introduce students to the main techniques in quzliataitve organizational research, with lots of real-world applications.
This is a good book on qualitative research. However, the language of the book is more suitable for the PhD students and advanced researchers. I would not recommend this for the masters or the undergraduate level research students.
The book is part of a staple diet for qualitative researchers on my course. It is not classed as essential because quants researchers don't need it - butmostof my students are qualitative
Excellent guide to both theory and practicalities of organisational research and of use to external and internal researchers.
This book provides an excellent overview of qualitative research issues. It presents all major approaches of the field. The contributors discuss a wide variety of technical, philosophical, and ethical aspects the reflective researcher should consider. Very suitable for postgraduate students.
