Methodology
ETD Symposium was organized for the first time in Indian subcontinent. It was an opportunity to the library and information professionals from this region and neighbouring countries to attend the international symposium which is of high relevance to one and all. The speakers talked about the various aspects of research development process and the relevant best practices-oriented contents to support ETDs, their productivity, their operations and use.
SAGE was the gold sponsor of the event and had invited Prof Noronha Ernesto from IIM Ahmedabad to conduct a workshop “Research Methodology’ on 4th November, as part of promotion of the “SAGE Research Methods Online resource”. Prof Ernesto talked about various aspects of qualitative and quantitative research, data collection techniques and research writing techniques etc.
Mr Vivek Mehra, the guest of Honour
Mr Vivek Mehra, MD & CEO SAGE Publications, India was invited as the ‘guest of honour’ at the ETD cultural event where he was felicitated with a memento by Dr. Ramesh C Gaur, University Librarian, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) & Chair- ETD 2015 on 5th November. This was followed by welcome dinner for delegates hosted by SAGE.
The ETD Symposium provided delegates the unique opportunity to network, share experiences and discuss current good practices from around the world, enabling researchers and practitioners to chart a future course of action and is hoped to reinforce NDLTD objective to promote Electronic Theses & Dissertations (ETDs) activities in the developing countries.
