SAGE partners with The Neotia University (TNU) to institute short-term professional courses in Editing

31 March 2017: Leading independent academic and professional publisher, SAGE in collaboration with The Neotia University institutes short-term professional courses in editing with an aim to support graduates in pursuing a career in publishing. SAGE believes in playing a creative role in society by disseminating teaching and research on a global scale, the cornerstones of which are good, long-term relationships, a focus on our markets, and an ability to combine quality and innovation.

The School of Languages, instituted by The Neotia University (TNU) will set off its first course on Post graduate diploma in ‘Editing’. TNU in consultation with SAGE will develop the course structure under this program. SAGE will partner with TNU to extend support in providing hands-on experience through guest lectures, internships and workshops. Senior Technical and Management personnel from the industry will help support this mission.

The postgraduate diploma course in “editing” that TNU is starting with SAGE Publications is an attempt to bring industry and academia on one platform, use each other’s strength and benefit students. This Postgraduate diploma in “Editing” is of nine months’ duration where students will undergo at least “three months” on the job training that will benefit students in learning all modern tools and techniques of editing. It will also include few courses in English language usage.

The Neotia University (TNU) was established in February 2015 vide the West Bengal State Government Act XXIII of 2014. Though TNU is relatively new in its present configuration, it has its antecedents in a 14 year old institution named, Neotia Institute of Technology, Management and Science (NITMAS). TNU and NITMAS are the two dynamic endeavors of the Ambuja Neotia Group in the field of education. While NITMAS continues to offer long-established conventional courses to the students in West Bengal, TNU is primarily reaching out to much larger audience, offering highly advanced futuristic courses in various field of Technology, Maritime Studies and in other general areas of education.
