Open Access Options

Sage was one of the first major publishers to embrace the open access mode of free access with licencing allowing liberal reuse of articles. Many funding bodies and institutions now require that the work they support is made publicly available through a suitable repository. Sage’s open access publishing programme, Open Access agreements and author archiving policies allow our authors to comply with the various requirements stipulated by the major funding bodies or an author's institution.  Sage has a specific author information dedicated to help here. The options we offer authors and editors are as follows:

• Sage Choice is offered on many of Sage’s traditional subscription journals and allows authors to make their published article freely available for article processing charge
• Sage pure gold open access journals
• Open Access Agreements or other arrangements may be in place to help you cover the open access article processing charge or you may be eligible for a waiver
• Sage also supports green open access archiving for authors publishing in traditional subscription journals
