I thought the first edition of this book was very good; this one is even better. I strongly recommend it to anyone who has an interest in managing and changing organizations, whether they be students, academics or managers.
This book is destined to be a classic in the field. I was amazed at the balance the book presents in critical perspectives with sound ideas for organizational change and development. The book has included important current debates and discussion of change management. It also provides useful resources and activities for each chapter.
For students and practitioners, this is a benchmark text. Why do many planned organizational changes fail to meet their goals? Change management is often presented as a reaction to business problems, but change can be proactive, driven by creativity and innovation. Combining these perspectives in a processual framework, this text offers fresh explanations, beyond oversimplified guidelines and complex theories. The authors present a cross-disciplinary set of theories, models and techniques in a style sensitive to corporate, managerial and individual concerns.
This book is a smorgasbord of delightful insights into approaches, experiences and controversial dimensions of change from leading academics in the area. If you want to go beyond cliched treatments of the field, then this book provides you with a wealth of dishes and much needed food for thought .
Dawson and Andriopoulos achieve to explain in a clear and a hands on way the different challenges one faces when managing change in a creative setting.
This text is valuable for any student looking to introduce clinical change in the practice environment of healthcare.Theories, frameworks and techniques are suggested to guide the reader through the maze of organisational change.Links to group discussion, further recommended reading and 'hands on' exercises make this a very practical text.
well organized and thorough kind of reference.
Good structure of the chapters which finish with practical case studies. I like especially the chapter N. 3 how is creativity linked to innovation.
Adopted for this module as core text. Some undergraduates love it and some struggle with it. The pass rate and qualit of assignments using this text was high.
A good text with good general coverage of managing change.
The first book which combines three inseparable aspects Change, Creativity & Innovation to develop a sustainable and successful organisation.
Very good book that can be used as recommended reading in various modules
The book lacks in providing a solid foundation for creativity. The title is misleading. Creativity is mostly described as Innovation and vice-versa.
Good reference for Leadership programme students
This book offers an interesting approach to understand the dynamics experienced by companies in constant changing environments.
A very comprehensive and rewarding book. Clear and succinct insights that afford tremendous scope for discussion and development
Topics not that relevant for our curriculum.
an engaging and rounded exploration of this important field
Very interesting book. Covers topics that are relevant to the module I am leading. Book has been adopted as essential.
I will definitly recomend the textbook to interested students who would like to get a deeper insight to this topic. However it is not suitable to our courses at the moment.
