This book is particularly useful in our English teaching module where students have requested for specific information about how to cater for special needs like, memory issues etc. Will be a valuable addition to our reading list.

This book is a useful tool for students wishing to work in schools, supporting children with special needs. It provides a brief background to the principles of inclusion, and whilst it is not recommended as academic literature to support essay writing, it provides practical examples of the ways in which the school environment can be adapted to maximise the opportunities for learning and development.
The chapter about "motivation friendly classrooms" is very good, overall useful for a wide range of educational and other staff working in inclusive primary school education

Memory and motivation friendly classrooms are just two areas covered in some detail, with practical ideas and easy-to-use assessment sheets, together with other activities.
This is for classroom practitioners. It is not a resource I would use with students on an initial teacher education programme, however it is a book I would highlight to them as useful for their probationary year.
For a moudle regarding inclusion the students are required to produce a portfolio fo evidence. This text has been of great value in supporting the students and will be recommended as a purchased text

This inspection copy was requested for the PGCE primary education programme, not the Inclusion module. Case studies useful for group discussion. All chapters relevant but I particularly like Chapter 3: The Motivation Friendly Classroom.
A useful book for my MA Dyslexia: Research and Practice and British Dyslexia Association's Approved Teacher Status and Approved Practitioner Status awards. The book provides an introduction to inclusive practice and I particularly use the chapters 2 The Memory Friendly Classroom and Chapter 3: The Motivation Friendly Classroom. Students found the ideas and templates useful and enjoyed using them. The ideas were clearly underpinned by theory.
