I will be mainly using these parts of the book for the current IHRM course, but am contemplating a separate workshop on design thinking and creative problem solving that uses the Isaksen, Dorval and Treffinger text as one of the two or three essential texts.

Seems to have a good overview of CPS in an experiential approach
Hands-on approach to problem solving with strategies that can easily be put into practice.
This book provides very clear and detailed description of each aspect opf a relatively complex model. It is very practical and illustrated with some useful examples. As one would expect the work is very systematic and comprehensive, with useful reflective tasks. The case studies aid understanding, and the tips for getting started are useful. Good web site too.
Recommended text for the Business Methods module. Steps student through problem solving concepts from idea generation to evaluation through to implementation.
Nopt what I expected for use in this class but good generally for a mid level management class. Perhaps in the future.

Repalcing outdated textbook
This book contains a broad range of tools for generating, selecting and evaluating ideas that would lead to the planning of actions. I have integrated this into my Ideas, Creativity and Entrepreneurship Unit. We stated this book as: Items for purchase (core textbooks).
Still reviewing texts
At this moment in time, this seems to be the only book that I have found for years that is written about generating ideas and the post-actions and activities. I will need to find ways to integrate this book into my units and this will be great for students to read learning. Nevertheless, I need time to properly read and integrate this book into my course.
This is an excellent reference book to anyone looking at implementing the CPS model.as it also provides interesting and insightful reading into the theory and the application in order to make CPS a success.
This is not a bad book but it perhaps more appropriate to professional courses rather than essentially academic ones. I would use it on the CMI courses and have used it on the BA Hons Leadership top-up program.
A welcome supplement to "Creative Problem Solving: An Introduction" - as clear, concise and accessible book as that is (I refer to the 4th Edition publish in 2005).
If you want an expansion on CPS methodology that is both meaningful and applicable, then this book is extremely valuable. The framework is linked to practise with lots of case studies.
I will be recommending this to my students.
