Schwartz’s book, Memory: Foundations and Applications is the most comprehensive text on cognitive memory and application that I have found and used in both my graduate and undergraduate courses. Beginning at the basic and fundamental understanding of the types of memory and continuing to the more advanced discovery of up to date application, this text is perfect for really knowing how memory systems work.
Schwartz’s Memory: Foundations and Applications brings the modern world of memory research into clear focus with engaging examples, a strong emphasis on real-world applications of memory, and opportunities for students to learn as they explore the text.
This text does an excellent job of conveying important concepts, cutting-edge research, and tying both to real-world applications. It is written clearly and at the perfect level for graduate students with a variety of backgrounds.
Used in previous offering of the course. Will likely change textbook next year to one with more interactive/online learning resources for students.
