The Journal of Real Estate, Construction & Management aspires to become an internationally recognised journal that fosters innovation and excellence in the construction industry. The journal, formerly known as the NICMAR Journal of Construction Management.
National Institute of Construction Management and Research (NICMAR) was established by the Indian Construction Industry in 1983. NICMAR for the past four decades has been a knowledge leader for the Construction, Real Estate, Infrastructure and Projects (CRIP) sector and continues to be the harbinger of educational changes for this sector.
Aims
The Journal of Real Estate, Construction & Management aspires to be one of the top avenues for advancing research in built environment and management. The journal seeks to have a nuanced focus on domains such as real estate, construction, engineering, and project management. The journal also aims to be a preferred outlet for the dissemination of research in management including domains such as marketing, human resource management, finance, operations & supply chain management, strategy, and allied areas. Its goal is to publish top-notch, peer-reviewed, interdisciplinary research sourced from academics, scholars, practitioners, and policymakers to foster technological innovation and sustainable growth while bridging the gap between theory and practice.

Construction Management: Planning, Scheduling, Cost Management, Risk Management, Construction Techniques and Materials, Construction Finance, Contracts, Health and Safety, Transportation, and allied fields.
Infrastructure Development: Design, Construction, Operation, Maintenance of Infrastructure Projects, Infrastructure Finance, and allied fields.
Sustainability in Construction: Green Building, Energy-Efficient Practices, Climate-Resilient Construction, Sustainable Supply Chain, Sustainable Finance, and allied fields.
Technological Innovations: Use of Tools like Building Information Modeling, Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence, Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, Blockchain in Real Estate, Construction, and allied fields.
Policy and Regulation: Effects of Government Policies, Legal Frameworks, and Standards on Real Estate, Construction, and allied industries.
Education and Training: Modern Teaching Methods, Curriculum Development, and Skills Enhancement in Real Estate and Construction Management Education, and allied fields.

Publication types
The Journal of Real Estate, Construction & Management welcomes submissions in the following three formats:
Research Articles: The research articles are expected to make a substantial contribution to the body of knowledge in built environment, management, or allied disciplines. The journal seeks empirical articles employing quantitative or qualitative methodology, conceptual papers, and review papers. The recommended length under this category of submissions is up to 8000 words.
Managerial Practices and Policy Perspectives: Submissions in this format, even if not backed by original empirical research, should inform the discourse or offer valuable insights to industry practitioners and policymakers in the built environment, management, or allied disciplines. The expected length is up to 6000 words.
Teaching Cases: The journal welcomes teaching cases in built environments, management, and allied disciplines. Each case must be accompanied by a teaching note, containing detailed in-depth analysis. The recommended length of the case, excluding the teaching note, is up to 5000 words. Only case studies will be published, however, submission of teaching notes is mandatory along with teaching cases.
