The book gives good introduction to doing interviews, so we will adopt parts of it as essential for the course.

This text it excellent. It is very much a 'how to guide'. It will certainly be useful for my students conducting observations in the Social Sciences.

This text is being used across two cohorts of outdoor students [Outdoor Leadership and Adventure Sports Coaching] and so far has proved popular. Of particular interest to my students are the Key Points at the end of each chapter allowing them a quick and easy reference guide as well as the opportunity to investigate points further when deemed relevant. Although being used for Research Methods, this text is also highly applicable to a module in Experiential learning and Reflective Practice and is also informing second and third years in their choice and development of dissertation ideas.

This book provides an essential background to ethnographic research. It gives an overview of the main points for doing ethnography and puts the reader in a good position to start think about the practical aspects of ethnographic observations and gathering data. A well laid out book which is accessible to read.
