Doing Business Research

Research Methods for Business & Management
`This is a gem of a book from two of the outstanding management researchers of their generation. Easy to read and entertaining, yet rigorous and comprehensive in its approach, this book will be adopted as an essential aid for students undertaking final year projects, masters dissertations, and as a primer for doctoral researchers' - Professor Graham Hooley, Aston University
For anyone involved in developing a research project, this textbook provides an integrated, accessible and humorous account that explains why research methods are the way they are and how they do what they do.
Unrivalled in its nature Doing Business Research addresses the research project as a whole and provides:
- essential detail of philosophical and theoretical matters that are crucial to conceptualising the nature of methodology
- a pragmatic guide to why things are important and how they are important
- a huge range of things to consider that the reader can use to develop their research project further
- a resource book, providing extensive suggested reading to help the researcher do their research.
This book doesn't just show you the 'basics' - it will ultimately empower you to place a magnifying glass on all elements of your research.
Very nice motivational text as well as being correct and rigorous - fresh alternative from Saunders or Bryman or O'Gorman
It is a good additional material given its focus on business research.
An excellent text. This is a must read for students undertaking research methods modules across the full range of business management programmes, Lee & Lings provide an interactive text which brings research methods to life, covering the key aspects methodology and methods.
A good text that provides students with the structure and knowledge to deliver a successful business research project.
The textbook is well written with excellent discussions on the scientific and the interpretive approaches to conducting research. Business students often stumble when asked about their methodological framework. This text should definitely help!
I am in total agreement with the precis on the back cover, 'this is not just another book about research.' Lee & Lings have not just rehashed old material, they have produced an up to date, pragmatic and hands-on research manual. It contains an excellent mix of theory and practice and in doing so meets the needs of taught and research students.
Ideal for both undergraduate and postgraduate students. It provides an overview of the research methods. Am sure this text book will find an essential place on every desk, study room of students, lectures and all those students who wish to delve deeper into Business research methods.
The distributor in Korea could not get this book. Therefore, I had to adopt another text.
