I am a Principal Lecturer in Psychology in the University of Brighton's School of Applied Social Sciences.  The School has an emphasis on vibrant interdisciplinarity.  My research has considered various aspects of identity, particularly in terms of relationships, capacities for self-reflection and inequality.  More recently I have become interested in issues of representation and recogntion in relation to identity, with a focus on popular cultural media.  I predominately teach social, cultural a

Nick Adams is a sociologist and earned his PhD at University of California, Berkeley in 2015. His research there analyzed protester and police interactions, as revealed through 8,000 news accounts of nearly 200 U.S. Occupy campaigns. He is currently the CEO of Thusly, Inc, which developed TagWorks, a web-based content analysis software for researchers.
