Maha Atout

Maha Atout completed her PhD at the University of Nottingham in 2017. She works as an assistant professor at the Philadelphia University of Jordan. Her experiences working with children with life-threatening and life-limiting illnesses led to her interest in understanding communication between children with life-threatening conditions and their parents and health care professionals. She has published several papers in this field.





Salvatore I. Attardo

Salvatore Attardo was trained as a linguist at the Catholic University of Milan, Italy, where he graduated in foreign languages and literature (French), with a dissertation on the linguistics of humor, in 1986. In 1988, he moved to the United States to attend Purdue University. In 1991, together with Victor Raskin, Attardo published a long article that developed Raskin’s own semantic theory of humor into the general theory of verbal humor (GTVH).




Elizabeth Attfield

Elizabeth began her career as a Language teacher in Secondary schools. After retraining to work with Primary age children, she held a variety of posts in mainstream and special educational settings, before moving to the voluntary sector as Parent Partnership Officer.
