Sage signs a transformative agreement with Norwegian consortium

Sage Publishing has signed a new open access publishing agreement with Unit consortium (Norwegian consortium for higher education and research), which negotiates and manages 39 licence agreements on behalf of Norwegian research libraries from the public sector. The three-year read and publish agreement applies to all articles received and accepted from January 1st, 2020 and will provide Norwegian researchers with:

Unlimited open access publishing rights in more than 890+ hybrid journals including titles published on behalf of, or in association with, over 400 societies

Page and Publication Charges

Some subscription journals charge authors page or publication charges to publish their article. There has been ambiguity when an article, from one of these journals, has any of these associated costs as well as open access (OA) as to what should be charged. Therefore, Sage is clarifying its policy on the subject (July 2022).

The Sage Production Process

  • Communication: We are conscious of, and understand, how keen authors are to see their work published. Sage production staff maintain regular communication with journal editors and authors throughout the production process. In addition, email messages are automatically sent out to the corresponding author at key points along the workflow to confirm that their article has been received in production and to inform them of their article’s progress.

There are two ways an article in a subscription journal can publish OA, one is through requesting to publish your article OA, this is called Sage Choice, or the article may have been identified as part of one of our Open Access Sales Deals (OASD).
