Communication
An Introduction

240 pages | SAGE Publications Ltd
"An impressively clear and thoughtful introduction to communication science. Uniquely, this outlines the core integrating concepts of an emergent discipline, spanning interpersonal, group organizational, mass societal, and international levels of communication." --Jay G. Blumler, Emeritus Professor, The University of Leeds This introduction offers a thorough, yet lively, examination of all aspects of human communication. Karl Erik Rosengren takes an original and daring approach through this introductory text, by drawing from the latest theories and evidence. This book provides the reader with a summary of its nature, form, and function, while providing a detailed analysis of all levels of communication. The author develops a clear overview of the different traditions of communication studies and concludes by focusing on the future of the field of communication science. This text is accessibly written and assumes no prior knowledge of the discipline, making it perfect for beginning students of communication and media studies.

`An impressively clear and thoughtful introduction to communication science. Uniquely, this outlines the core integrating concepts of an emergent discipline, spanning interpersonal, group, organisational, mass-societal, and international levels of communication. This is an indispensable text for communication students' - Jay G Blumler, Emeritus Professor, The University of Leeds

Too theoretical and too advanced language for a group of bachelor students from 6 different countries, neither of which are native English speakers. I have used the book as supplemental material while preparing my lectures.

A really interesting book that looks in to the many aspects of communication; I will be recommending all of my business students to read this book and utilise as a point of reference.
