The following institutions have Open Access Prepaid Accounts with SAGE that can be used to cover the cost of article processing charges (APCs) for SAGE Choice articles and those published in gold open access journals. Find out if you are eligible by contacting your university librarian or open access coordinator to retrieve your institution’s Open Access Prepaid Account code for SAGE:

Cardiff University - The prepaid account is available for RCUK authors only. Cardiff authors that have COAF or no funding can still apply for their Open Access fees to be paid by invoice by emailing openaccess@cardiff.ac.uk
Durham University - The University is only able to consider payment of Article Processing Charges (APCs) for RCUK-funded authors

University College London - UCL is able to pay open access charges for RCUK/Wellcome/COAF funded authors. Limited funds are available for other UCL corresponding authors who are full members of staff or students where the funder does not cover open access charges. University of Birmingham - The University is only able to pay open access charges for RCUK/Wellcome/COAF funded authors, or for publication in fully open access journals. Contact openaccesspublications@contacts.bham.ac.uk for more information.
University of Bristol - The University is only able to pay open access charges for RCUK/Wellcome/COAF funded authors. Only RCUK authors are able to use the prepayment account. For non-RCUK funded research, please contact open-access@bristol.ac.uk

The Netherlands
SAGE has an agreement with VSNU Netherlands institutions, which is running between 2017 and 2019. The details of the deal are as follows:
Subscription journals which offer SAGE Choice: The articles of corresponding authors from various VSNU Netheralnds institutions can be made open access through SAGE Choice, SAGE's hybrid open access option, free of charge.
Gold open access journals: Corresponding authors publishing an article in a gold open access journal may be entitled to a 20% discount on the prevailing article processing chage (APC) for that journal.
