John P. McIver

JOHN P. MCIVER (Ph.D., Indiana University, 1985) returned to the University of Colorado in 1996 after two years as Director of the Political Science Program of the National Science Foundation. McIver taught at the University of Houston prior to joining the University of Colorado faculty in 1987. McIver's research spans a number of areas from statistics and research methodology to public opinion with a major emphasis on the justice system. Edward G. Carmines is Warner O. Chapman Professor of Political Science and Rudy Professor at Indiana University. He is also the director of the Center on American Politics and the research director at the Center on Congress at Indiana University. His research focuses on American politics, especially elections, public opinion, and political behavior. He has published widely in the major journals in the discipline including the American Political Science Review, American Journal of Political Science, and Journal of Politics.
