"A remarkable reference resource. It is, without a doubt, the most absorbing and easily absorbed book we have seen, setting out the most comprehensive survey of the history, definitions, needs of carers and sufferers, issues of diagnosis, and much, much more." - Nurturing Potential

Every early childhood student and early childhood practitioner needs this book; it is an invaluable guide to best practice when working with young children with such particular needs.
A great text. Very thorough, a very informative read for practitioner, students and teachers.
Excellent use of ‘real’ case studies. This book is well set-out and each chapter offers key issues, suggestions for discussion and further reading.
Although this book covers the essential reading for the subject area, I feel that it would not add to books already recommended to students.
This textbook is a good adjunct to the booklist for undergraduate students in children's nursing. It gives insight into how healthy young children are managed in early years and provided tips on how children with autism could be managed in other settings
This book provides sound information to altert the new practitioner to the signs of autism and understanding its completity, with practical advice of what and where to seek advice.
